CASA MIYAMA is located in a village in Miyama, Kyoto. Mountains surround our village and a transparent river runs through it. At night, only a myriad of breathtaking stars and the moon shed lights on our village.

Pick-up Service (Kayabuki-No-Sato Tour)

Your Hotel at Kyoto city or JR Kyoto Station ➡︎ (Sake Tasting / Takao) ➡︎ Kayabuki no Stato ➡︎ Casa Miyama If you were 4 or less persons We will pick you up at your hotel in the city of Kyoto or JR Kyoto Station at 11am. Then we will take you to Kayabuki-No-Sato, the famous thatched roof house village in Miyama, one and half hour drive from Kyoto city. When we arrive there, we will have lunch first. After we enjoy the village, we will leave the village to Casa Miyama. On the next day, after your check-out, we will drop you off at the nearest JR station, Hiyoshi, 45 minutes ride to Kyoto Station. 46,000yen for two to four persons If you were 5 or 6 persons An English spoken driver will pick you up at your hotel in the city of Kyoto or JR Kyoto Station at 11am. The route and itinerary will be the same above. 60,000yen for 5 to 8 persons.

Train & Free Pick-up Service (if you were less than 4 persons)

Kyoto Station ➡︎ JR Hiyoshi Station（about 4５ minutes by a JR) ➡︎ Free pick up servie to Casa Miyama (30 minutes drive ) Please let us know which train you takes. For our check-in time, after 3pm, we recommend you to take a train at 14:08 from Kyoto Station and arrive at Hiyoshi Station at 14:54. If you want to visit Kayabuki no Sato, thatched roof village of Miyama, before your check-in, we will pick you up at Kayubuki no Sato. Please take a Nantan City Bus from Hiyoshi Station to Kayabuki no Sato. Depending on season, there is direct bus service from Kyoto Station or Sonobe Station to Kayabuki no Sato. Please check the website of Keihan Kyoto Kotsu. Nantan City Bus departure time schedule from Hiyoshi Station: 10:10, 11:10, 12:10, 13:10, 14:10, 15:10, 16:10, 17:20, 18:35

Train & Bus (if you were more than 4 persons)

Kyoto Station ➡︎ Hiyoshi Station（about 40 minutes by a JR) ➡︎ Miyawaki Bus Stop (35 minutes by Nantan City Bus). We will pick you up at Miyawaki bus stop. Please let us know which bus you takes. To check-in at 3pm, we recommend to take a bus at 14:10 from Hiyoshi Station.

We are 15-minute-drive from Kayabuki no Sato. We can pick you up before chek-in or drop you off after check-out at Kayabuki no Sato.
How far is Casa Miyama from Kyoto city center?
It is about 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Kyoto city center by car and 100 minutes by train and bus.
How do we move around in Miyama?
If you want to move around in Miyama, it is nice to have a car because local bus service is limited and there is no railway in Miyama.
Where is the nearest airport to Casa Miyama?
Itami Airport (Osaka International Airport) is the nearest. There are Itami Airport Bus services every 20 minutes from Itami Airport to Kyoto (50-minute-ride). Or you can rent a car at the airport. It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes from Itami Airport to Casa Miyama by car.
Do we need snow tires?
Yes. It snows quite a bit in Miyama. We recommend to have snow tires from mid-December to the end of February.
